SUPERFICIAL CHRISTIANITY

 

Superficial christianity is causing false religion to be widely spread, resulting in weak and powerless people who are wondering what has happened to the God of the Bible ‘they think they are serving’.

THE REMEDY?

STUDY THE BIBLE FOR YOURSELF.

Work hard so God can say to you, “Well done.” Be a good workman, one who does not need to be ashamed when God examines your work. Know what his Word says and means.

WHO WILL TEACH YOU?

1 John 2: 27 (TLB)

27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

 

 

 

Spiritual Failure

Many of us fail spiritually because we are too busy trying to secure ourselves financially.

TRUE SECURITY COMES FROM BEING IN A RIGHT RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD THROUGH HIS SON, JESUS CHRIST.

Unfortunately, many have an emotional relationship with a god they have heard about but do not know and assume that they are in a relationship with the God of the Bible they don’t study and in many cases THEY DON’T EVEN READ.6

Emotionally Charged – Spiritually Barren

Do not get so emotionally charged in a church service that you leave the building physically energized but spiritually barren.

Communication & Progress

New born babies communicate by crying. As children grow, they communicate by pointing at what they need, or making their request known in one word….wahwa, juice etc. Many times they see something and they want it just because they see it, or because they know it’s there.

As children progress in years, their social and communicative skills develop and they are able to have meaningful conversations and relationships. They enroll in school and begin their academic journey with their peers. Some will complete the journey through High school while others will not. Some will move on to college, obtaining a first degree while others will move beyond, continuing into the world of greater wisdom, knowledge and skills, which will open doors of opportunities that those who remained at a lower level cannot even imagine.

Relationships with God are like that. Some people have been saved for years but got stuck at the primary level, yet they still want the same rewards as a college graduate or self made success story where persons sacrificed and did what was necessary to achieve the best.

Just as you must progress academically in order to move to the various levels of educational and financial success in life, you must progress spiritually in order to move to the various levels of spiritual success.

NO GROWTH … NO REWARD!

Proper Perspective

Everything in its proper perspective is good but some people are so consumed by the political that they have no time for the spiritual and some are so consumed by the temporal that they have no thoughts of the eternal.

SPIRITUAL DISCONNECTION

There is a spiritual disconnection between God and many of the persons who claim to have a respectful relationship with Him. This disconnection is seen quite often in places of worship.

If you go to the house of God, examine it carefully. Does it appear that all persons come to worship or does it appear that many persons are more concerned about catching up on the gossip for the week before service begins and what they are not able to catch up with then, they conclude during the time of greeting?

 

We cannot truly worship God in a carnal state of mind. In other words, since GOD is Spirit, the only way that we can truly worship HIM is to move from carnal mode to spiritual mode so that we can be united in our attitude of worship and in so doing, experience the fullness of HIS presence with us. (See John 4:24)

This move from carnal mode to spiritual mode is not a constant back and forth between both but a progressive move from one to the other…carnal to spiritual.

 

To move from carnal mode to spiritual mode, we must be renewed in the spirit of our mind. This renewal process comes through careful and systematic study of the Word of God. (See Ephesians 4:23)

 

True spiritual connection with GOD results in a real lifestyle of worship – not just days set aside for worship in a building. The reason people gather in a building is to worship God as a body of believers so that we can be encouraged and refueled to represent God in a world where many want nothing to do with Him.

 

If we find ourselves in the wrong mode for worship –not just when we go to a building to worship but throughout our daily example of living a lifestyle of worship unto GOD, we need to study and learn more about the GOD of the Bible whom we say is the GOD we serve.

RENEWING YOUR MIND

 

 

THE BENEFITS OF EXERCISE

The world of physical fitness has captured the mind and the money of millions of people. Every day that you look at your T.V. screen, you can expect to see some kind of advertisement prompting you to get the perfect body. There are exercise machines that are designed to develop specific areas of your body as well as machines designed to give you a full body workout. If you are not gadget crazy, there are daily exercise shows that promise to turn your body into a work of art unlike anything created by the masters of yesterday – no matter what condition it is in.

 

The world of spiritual fitness lies in the body of the church. Spiritual fitness is not a one-time activity. Just as effort must be applied daily in order to obtain and maintain a body that is physically fit, effort must be applied daily in order to obtain and maintain a mind that is spiritually fit. Just as the world makes exercising to obtain and maintain a healthy lifestyle look so enticing that millions of people become a part of a physically fit program, the church needs to let the excitement of being a part of the family of God become a reality and in so doing, entice the world to become a part of a fitness program that has eternal benefits.

 

1st Timothy 4:8 (New Living Translation) says:

Physical exercise has some value, but spiritual exercise is much more important, for it promises a reward in both this life and the next.

Daily exercise is important; just make sure that the benefits that you reap are not cancelled at the time of your death.

Obedience to GOD is the key to your spiritual success.

Cycle of Seasons

If the earth’s cycle of seasons are interrupted and do no run their natural courses, there will be loss of crop and sometimes loss of life.

If the cycle of our spiritual seasons are interrupted and do not run their natural courses, there will be loss of spiritual crop and loss of eternal life with Christ.

Many Christians complain about the season they’re in and try to skip over it BUT we must all remember that we can’t expect a harvest if we skip, break or change the cycle of the seasons in our lives.

The reward is for those who endure the process…not those who change it.

True Transformation

True transformation is not physical BUT spiritual and can only happen through the renewing of your mind.

Romans 12 (KJV)
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
